Keeping it Classy by 8-BitQuilter Keeping it Classy by 8-BitQuilter
:iconfancyplz: Classy rabbit is class. Decapitated bear is decapitated.

And delicious.

T_T OKAY, I KNOW THIS IS REALLY CREEPY, BUT IT'S FOR A CONTEST, SO.... YEAH. AT LEAST IT'S DONE WITH STYLE. :iconbowtieplz:

Ahem. Anyways.
(At least it's not a scary as my original idea, which involved a meat cleaver. ._. )

If you find these lovely diners vaguely endearing instead of revolting, let me know, and mayhaps I can upload more pictures of Classy Rabbit and Headless Bear. :)

Bowties are cool.

(And yes, I did sew that bear head myself. It just.... became unattached from it's body. Accidentally. o_o )

Hey!

You wanted me to give you a crique for this one.
As I tell everyone I give a critique to; don't mind the stars.

Photographically:
You seem to have a nice idea on what you're trying to show us as viewers. When you get an idea like that, don't be afraid to try alot of angles and setups with the props you've got here.
When it comes down to the technicalaspect of the photo there are something to think about when it comes to lighting and focus. I'm guessing by the settings and the focus that you've used some sort of automatic-fuction. What happens when you do that is that you'll get a correct exposure, but you're paying the price with added grain. This can be fixed to some extent by having your camera on selftimer standing on something solid.
When it comes to the use of autofocus, the autofocus will search for a highcontrast area, which in this case would be the knifeblade - as a result of this you'll end up with a somewhat blurry rabbit.

So to sum it up photographically I'd recommend you to try different angles and setups, add some light if there isn't much at the scene and to get the sharpest possible image, be sure to have your camera on selftimer standing on something sturdy in a case were you don't have much light.

Post-processing:
To give this image a little more detail I would lighten the shadows slightly and add some contrast.

I'd recommend you to have a look at this video [link] when you have the time. It's a video on compositions and how to open your mind up to creative solutions :)

I hope this was helpful :)

:la: Huzzah! I knew you'd like it! :dummy: You should write a scene where Loki eats it. :meow: Mr. Bear is delicious. Just ask Mr. Rabbit!

:icondummywooplz: The bear needed some garnish, and we were out of tomatoes, so I figured carrots were the next best thing. :D

~~~~~
Loki gingerly poked the bear’s head with the knife. “…It’s still furry.”
Thor clapped him on the back with a delighted, innocent grin. “Come on, Uncle Loki! It’s a delicacy in Nidavellr!”
“I know it’s a delicacy in Nidavellr.” Loki glared at his nephew, still unwilling to eat something that…still had fur on it. “I’ve been here before. Just…not as a VIP who had to…eat it….” He resisted the urge to poke the bear head again.
It was different when he was an animal.
“You don’t want to be rude, do you?” Thor’s face was still totally innocent, devoid of any guile or the potential to bring this incident up later.
Scratch that, Thor would definitely bring it up later, just without devious intentions.
Their host, Ivaldi, was starting to look in their direction. Loki summoned all of his courage (and smothered his taste buds as well as he could) and…pondered the pros and cons of eating the gory thing before him.
“The eyeballs, Uncle, pluck out the eyeballs,” Thor stage-whispered.
Loki resisted the urge to slam down his utensils and tell Thor that yes, he did know how to eat the thing, he just didn’t want to eat it. That wouldn’t have been polite.
A delicate cough from Ivaldi’s direction. Loki dug one eyeball out of the bear’s head and with only a second’s hesitation (it would have been longer if he’d been thinking harder) slurped it down.
The dinner continued, interrupted only by Thor’s boisterous laughter.
Screw politeness. Thor was dead as soon as they got out of this infernal dining hall.
~~~~~~
That good enough for you? :3 Yes, the eyeballs were morbid, but I couldn't think how else to eat the thing. XD

And a lovely touch they were, too. :D

*cackle* It's dinner time. 8D

._. And the only thing I could think of for the contest. If the bear's head hadn't fallen off from his body, I would have done a cutesy photo instead, but since the cotterpin keeping it on broke.... this is what I ended up with. ._. Sorry it's so freaky.
